today is beautiful.
*After scouring the internet for four months, looking for the perfect seaglass/seafoam/pale aqua/robin's egg blue dresses (the most difficult to describe color of all time) for the maids, Puerto Rico and my darling mother saved the day. The hunt is over, and she got a screamin deal. So relieved, so glad, so thankful.
**Dave and I have had our fair share of hellos and goodbyes at airports over the past year. Once, we managed to both leave RDU to go back to Seattle and Nicaragua within one hour of each other, so we got to go through security at the airport together. But never have we ever been on a plane together. And last night, we bought our first plane tickets with side-by-side seats, which is so perfectly conducive to holding hands and sleeping on each others' shoulders all eight glorious hours from Raleigh to Seattle in December. I can't tell you how happy that makes me.
I'm full of gratitude today. There's much to be thankful for, much to rejoice in.
ps: I got a bit of a late start today, but I love mornings, especially Saturday mornings. And Thoreau says it best:
"The morning, which is the most memorable season of the day, is the awakening hour. Then there is least somnolence in us; and for an hour, at least, some part of us awakes which slumbers all the rest of the day and night." -Walden
